TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). Used for: Torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL). Also called dog ACL surgery, CCL surgery, cruciate surgery.

What it is

The most common surgery for a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), the canine version of a torn ACL. The surgeon cuts and rotates the top of the tibia and fixes it with a plate, so the knee stays stable without the ligament.
