How we check every listing
55 listings, last checked September 2026. Here's what each label means, and what it doesn't.
The rules
- The clinic's own website is the source
- Addresses, phone numbers and procedures come from the clinic's or surgeon's own site, not from review sites or other directories. Every listing links to the page we checked and shows the month we checked it.
- A procedure is listed only if they name it
- If a clinic's site says only "orthopedic surgery", the listing says exactly that, and asks you to call about the procedure your vet recommended.
- Board-certified means their site says so
- The board-certified label appears only when the clinic's site says a board-certified (ACVS) surgeon does its surgery. Otherwise the listing says credentials aren't stated. That doesn't mean the surgeon isn't qualified; ask.
- Mobile surgeons are marked
- Some surgeons travel to general practices and operate there. They have no street address, and they appear in each city their own site says they serve.
- Nobody pays to rank
- Listings are A to Z. Clinics can't pay to appear or to move up. Any advertising on the site is labeled and kept apart from the listings.
- Clinics that didn't pass aren't listed
- If we couldn't confirm a clinic on its own site (no website, a site that doesn't name the service, or signs it has closed), it isn't listed until we can.
Something wrong, or a clinic missing?
Clinics and owners can email hello@coloradodogsurgery.com. Include a link to the clinic's own page that shows the change, and we'll update the listing once it checks out. The same rules apply to every clinic.
